Michael Bublé: I cringe over my calendar

Michael Bublé says it makes him 'cringe' when he sees his face on a calendar.

The star has recently released his fifth album Christmas, which features his versions of all the holiday classics.

However, there is one aspect of the festive season that Michael dreads.

The singer hates seeing his official annual calendar and he confessed that the posed images make him squirm.

'It cringes me out if I come across my face on a calendar. I understand there's a need for that sort of merchandise but I'm not really comfortable with it,' he said in an interview with Hello! magazine.

But Michael does have respect for those who continue to create the same products.

He is a big fan of 71-year-old British popstar Sir Cliff Richard, who also has his own calendar out each year.

'I know Cliff Richard still does it and if I look as good at 40 as he does now I'll be happy,' he smiled.

marriage licence has Recieved by Sinéad O'Connor

Sinéad O'Connor has received her marriage licence.

The 45-year-old Irish singer applied for and received the legally binding document honouring her union with soon-to-be husband Barry Herridge on Wednesday night.

The pair have flown into Las Vegas to conduct a drive-thru wedding on Thursday.

Sinéad is elated about today's ceremony.

"I've been married before, but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas,' Sinéad told the Irish Independent newspaper.

'I wanted to do it there because it's casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic. We wanted a proper rock 'n' roll wedding."

Sinéad and Barry met through the Internet as a result of a campaign to meet potential suitors that the Nothing Compares 2 U singer held in August.

She wrote about how determined she was to find a man on her blog. Sinéad's post caused controversy, as she admitted she was 'desperate for sex.I am in the peak of my sexual prime and way too lovely to be living like a nun, and it's very depressing.'

Barry contacted Sinéad shortly after reading her blog via email and the pair quickly fell in love.

This will be Sinéad's fourth wedding, with her divorce from her third husband Steve Cooney finalised in April of this year.

The star has also been married to John Reynolds and Nicholas Sommerlad and has four children.

Christmas Recordings of Clarence Clemons are Released

Two newly discovered Clarence Clemons Christmas recordings to be released.

The world lost the big man, Clarence Clemons, back in June but they have something new to look forward to in this holiday season. Two Christmas songs that he recorded back in 1981 have been located and released through iTunes, Amazon and other download sites by Oceangate Records.

The release includes Clemons' take on There's Still Christmas, written by Dennis Bourke and the late Stevie Betts, along with the classic Christmas Song (Chestnuts).

Producers Dennis Bourke and Jim Nuzzo helmed the recording session that produced the two never-before-released tracks. Armed with the support of the Clarence Clemons Trust and his son Clarence Clemons III (a.k.a. Nick Clemons), the producers are honored to be a part of this celebrated legacy with this unique release. Bourke and Nuzzo recall, "We were blessed to have the opportunity to share some time with Clarence and record these marvelous Christmas tunes. He poured himself into the project, wearing Santa gear and capturing the essence of the season.

"With his passing in June 2011, we were all saddened to lose this American rock icon. One of the beauties of recorded music is its eternal power to play on long after the artist is physically gone. Clarence has a parting Christmas gift to us all with these soon-to-be holiday classics. Open up your hearts and listen to the Big Man say Merry Christmas to the world."

The Nick Clemons Band recently headlined the sold-out "Clarence Clemons Christmas Songs" CD release party held at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on November 18, and will make two special appearances at the legendary Stone Pony, with a Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 23, and the "Light Of Day" tribute concert for the "Asbury Angels" honoring the musicians and other members of the Asbury Park music scene who have passed on in recent years on Friday, January 13. Honorees include Clarence Clemons, Danny Federici, Kevin Kavanaugh, Donnie Bertleson and John Luraschi.

Lily Allen Marries Longtime Fiance

The pair exchanged vows at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England on Saturday, People reports. Dressed in a gown by French designer Delphine Manivet, Allen was given away by her father, Keith Allen. About 100 guests attended the intimate ceremony.

Despite having her wedding details leaked by a guest in March, Allen seemed happy before the big day, telling a friend on Twitter Wednesday, "I'm GREAT, I'm getting MARRIED EEEEEK !!!!!"

Allen and Cooper started dating in 2009. In November 2010, Allen lost their first child together in a miscarriage. Cooper proposed a month later.

Allen has released two studio albums to date. She declined to renew her record contract after her second album, "It's Not Me, It's You," choosing instead to focus on launching her own label, "In the Name Of."

E Street Band's Clarence Clemons has stroke

Clarence Clemons, saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen's iconic E Street Band, has suffered a stroke at his home in Florida, according to multiple reports.

Showbiz411, who was the first to report on Clemons' stroke, said the musician is "said to be seriously ill," while Rolling Stone confirmed the stroke occurred but said it did not have information on its severity.

Known as the "Big Man," Clemons has been with the E Street Band for nearly four decades and helped define the band's sound on such classics as "Born to Run" and "Thunder Road." The 69-year-old underwent two knee replacements and back surgery in the last year; in an interview with Rolling Stone in February, he described his last tour with the band as "pure hell" due to pain.

Most recently, Clemons collaborated with Lady Gaga on her "Born This Way" album, playing sax on the singles "The Edge of Glory" and "Hair" and performing with the pop star on the May 25 "American Idol" season finale.

While Clemons hasn't played with the E Street Band since December, he was scheduled to perform the National Anthem at the NBA Finals Game Two last week. However, the appearance was nixed at the last minute due to a hand injury; Clemons watched in the stands instead.

Katy Perry Parties With Rebecca Black

In her new video for "Last Friday Night (TGIF)," Katy Perry is having a full-on John Hughes moment.

In addition to the video's glorious '80s teen flick feeling, "Last Friday Night" features an onslaught of truly random cameos. Those celebs included: recent butt-of-the-joke Rebecca Black (of "Friday" viral fame), Darren Criss (Blaine) and Kevin McHale (Artie) from "Glee," Hanson, Kenny G (as "Uncle Kenny," who isn't allowed to play sax anymore), Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman (as Perry's parents).

Watch the extended video, which features Perry's brace-faced nerd-turned-hottie character, Kathy Beth Terry (age 13).
The humorous clip packs numerous tried-and-true story arcs of teen movies in a mere eight minutes, from a geek-to-chic makeover (just remove those big glasses, and voila!), to a teenaged rager while parents are away, and plenty of unrequited longing. Meanwhile, after several months of vicious internet bullying, Katy Perry gives Rebecca Black her chance to play "the cool girl." Black not only throws quite the Friday night rager, but in one of the video's stranger moments, she waxes Katy Perry's nonexistent mustache.

Even before the "Last Friday Night" video's premiere, Perry has been taking her Kathy Beth Terry alter-ego to the next level, launching Facebook and Twitter pages for the fictional eighth grader.

Cortney Love Sued Again for Defamation on Twitter

It's been only a few months since Courtney Love paid to settle that unique lawsuit claiming she defamed a fashion designer via Twitter. Now the rocker has been sued again for comments made online, this time by lawyers who represented her in an effort to pursue money allegedly stolen from the estate of her late husband, Kurt Cobain.
Gordon & Holmes, a San Diego-based law firm, filed suit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming the firm represented Love from December 2008 to May 2009, but toward the end of the representation, Love allegedly became angry when the firm's partner Rhonda Holmes asked that Love refrain from "any and all substance abuse" during the attorney-client relationship, according to the suit.
Courtney Love to Pay $430,000 to Settle Twitter Lawsuit
Love allegedly fired the firm but came back months later asking it to resume representing her. The firm declined, according to the suit, and soon after Love began making allegedly libelous statements on Twitter and elsewhere suggesting the lawyers had taken a bribe.
"I was fucking devastated (sic) when Rhonda J Holmes Esq of San Diego was bought off [...]"
The suit also sites an interview Love did in July 2010 with a website:
"I've been hiring and firing lawyers to help me with this." She goes on to tell of a female attorney who has since stopped taking her calls because "they got to her" after she mentioned something to Page 6 of the New York Post. "She's disappeared."
Holmes' claims that the statements suggesting she had been bought off or accepted a bribe, coupled with Love's power as a celebrity, have caused significant damage to her legal career. The attorney is also asking for punitive damages to deter Love from repeating the allegedly defamatory actions.
The complaint, filed by Holmes' firm, alleges causes of action for libel, false light invasion of privacy and intentional interference with a prospective economic advantage. It seeks unspecified damages.

'Idol' Winner Scotty McCreery Aiming For Hot 100's Top 10

Now that "American Idol" has crowned 17-year old Scotty McCreery as its latest winner, how is his coronation single, "I Love You This Big," selling?
Presently, industry prognosticators are projecting that the single may sell around 180,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 29 -- the best debut sales week for an "Idol" winner's first single since David Cook did 236,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan with "The Time of My Life" in 2008.
Scotty McCreery Wins 'American Idol' Season 10
McCreery's 180,000-start will likely enable him to debut within the top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next Wednesday (June 1). "Love" could flirt with a possible top 10 entry.
Runner-up Lauren Alaina's "Like My Mother Does" may sell 140,000, which will probably give it a top 20 entry.

Generally speaking, "Idol" winners first singles get little radio airplay -- which is a factor in determining rank on the Hot 100 (along with sales and streaming data). Though, because both McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina's songs are both country tunes, they could earn a bit more airplay than usual, as their songs will appeal to multiple formats of radio stations.
Last year's winner, Lee DeWyze, stumbled with his first single, a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day," which missed all of our radio airplay charts, but debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 24 off the strength of its 95,000-sales start. Two years ago, winner Kris Allen launched at No. 11 with "No Boundaries," thanks to a 134,000 start.

Lady Gaga Times Two, Lokast, Spins.FM & More

The all-out marketing blitz behind Lady Gaga's new album Born This Way wouldn't be complete without a few mobile apps to compliment it all. The developers behind the Tap Tap Revenge mobile rhythm game issued Born This Way Revenge, which features 17 tracks from the deluxe version of the album. And, for the first time in the game franchise, features in-app access to Gagavision videos via YouTube, as well as other video shorts. Gaga & Co. also teamed with app developer Appetizer Mobile for the app "Lady Gaga: The Monster In You." Users submit photos of themselves to the app, which then adds prosthetic makeup, horns and lipstick to them to transform them into "Little Monsters." The app also contains links to buy the album and share their morphed photos via social networking.

LoKast

NearVerse introduced the latest version of its LoKast app. The app allows users to share content with one another, but only for those in the same physical space. In addition to sharing photos, music and other media, the app adds the ability for various type of chat and messaging functions. This includes group chat, private chats, hosted chats and so on… all available only to other LoKast app users in the same area. The company bills them as proximity-based social networks.

Social Requests App

Bridging the digital and analog worlds, Spins.FM is a service that lets users request songs on participating radio stations using Twitter and Facebook. The new Social Requests App adds a dedicated app to the mix, which gives radio stations more control and understanding of the requests. Participating stations can view stat requests, broken down by location, song, etc.

Moodagent

The cloud-based playlist creator is now available for BlackBerry devices. Moodagent creates playlists based on, as you can imagine, mood. Simply enter in your mood, and the app analyzes your music library to come up with the best collection of songs that apply, using "emotional profiling." It also offers recommendations for songs not in your library. Out of a playlist of 100 songs, half are new songs recommended via the service, limited to 30-second samples which users can immediately buy.

Hound

SoundHound this week launched Hound, a standalong voice search application that allows uers to find a song, artist or band by simply saying the name of each into the phone's speaker. This is a feature of the flagship SoundHound music ID app, but Hound is a spinoff focused just on the voice interface. Whereas that flagship app is paid, Hound is free. Search results provide song previews, lyrics, videos, sharing features and more.

RedLaser LIVE

QR code scanning app RedLaser has a new version created for the Sasquatch Music Festival, called RedLaser LIVE. Users first check-in to a specific location within the venue, where they can also see the location of any Facebook friend who do the same. It then lets users can QR codes at various vendors or bookmark certain spots (like users' campsites) to find later on the embedded map of the festival grounds. Also, users can scan a special code at the RedLaser booth to win a chance to meet Fitz and the Tantrums.

Former MLB slugger Jose Canseco directed a handful of Tweets to Lady Gaga on May 23, asking for the pop star's hand in marriage and calling himself "her knight in baseball armor." In a tweet that now appears to have been deleted, Conseco writes: "Lady Gaga where r u did u get my marriage proposal I am at cocoa casino in yuma Arizona." Gaga has yet to respond, but as Oh No They Didn't points out, Canseco once dated Madonna -- .500 ain't bad, Jose. (@JoseConseco, Oh No They Didn't)

Coalition Battles Grammys Over Category Cuts
A coalition of musicians is demanding the Recording Academy restore more than 30 categories cut from the Grammy Awards, alleging the reductions unfairly target ethnic music and were done without the input of its thousands of members. A protest was held Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif., at an academy board meeting. It was part of a campaign by those upset by last month's decision to reduce the Grammy fields, which this year totaled 109, to 78. (Associated Press)

Uncharted Territory: Bieber Boosts Halter, Pitty Takes a Tumble, Russ Chimes Debuts

Two words: Bieber Power.

Say Justin Bieber attended your show with Selena Gomez, jumped stage to perform a song with you, and tweeted about it to his 9.9 million Twitter followers. How many followers would you gain? In the case of singer/songwriter Ernie Halter, the number is 16,500 and counting. That's right. Halter, who debuts at No. 35, earned a surprise visit from the Biebs.

On tour, Bieber covered Halter's song "Come Home To Me." Once back, he crashed one of Halter's California shows with Gomez and sang it with him. Halter and Bieber traded Twitter replies after the show, causing a firestorm of Bieber fans to converge onto Halter.

Since the appearance, the budding performer has released an acoustic cover of "Baby" by Bieber, which both fans bases loved.

Two weeks ago, Brazilian rock singer Pitty debuted (No. 14) and broke into Uncharted's top 10 the next (No. 3). She now topples from No. 3 to No. 29. Why the quick rise and fall? In May, Google Brazil launched Orkut Live, an online community that features live interviews with artists and celebrities, with Pitty as their front-runner. Her interview, uploaded to YouTube on May 10, went viral, bringing in 202,000 views. Activity, however, has since cooled off. Along with this, Pitty recently released her live, 12-song DVD "Flying Circus Troupe Delusional."

Elsewhere, UK-based producer and remix artist Russ Chimes debuts at No. 31. This week, he gained 15,000 new plays, respectively. Leading up the May 23 release of his latest EP, "Tonic/Helix," Chimes uploaded a teaser to his SoundCloud, which gained nearly 4,000 plays. His new "Shake Aletti" remix is also featured on "Moda Volume 1," out May 26.

Uncharted ranks artists - those who have not charted previously with Billboard - using a formula blending weekly additions of friends / fans / followers across the world's leading social networking sites (MySpace, Twitter, Facebook), as well as weekly artist page views and weekly song plays on influential music outlets (YouTube, Last.FM, SoundCloud).

Canadian DJ Lazy Rich, who debuts at No. 39, also had a big week on SoundCloud. During the tracking week, he added 14,000 new plays, most of which fell under a preview of his latest track "Better Wipe That Up." While only a preview, the full-version will be released on June 30. June to August, Rich is touring globally from Brazil to London to San Diego.

Lastly, the rock act Otenki, one of the finalists in Billboard's recent Battle of the Bands, claimed a top ten spot (bouncing from No. 11 to No. 6), with an 85,000 MySpace play gain. Their new EP "Kinetic" is due out this spring.

To discover new music and get a head start on following the careers of these emerging artists, find the rest of this week's chart on Billboard.comor in Billboard Magazine, and check in with Uncharted Territory every week for more.

Gil Scott-Heron Dies in New York at Age 62

Musician Gil Scott-Heron, who helped lay the groundwork for rap by fusing minimalistic percussion, political expression and spoken-word poetry on songs such as "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," died Friday at age 62.

A friend, Doris C. Nolan, who answered the telephone listed for his Manhattan recording company, said he died in the afternoon at St. Luke's Hospital after becoming sick upon returning from a European trip.

"We're all sort of shattered," she said.

Video: Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"

Scott-Heron's influence on rap was such that he sometimes was referred to as the Godfather of Rap, a title he rejected.

"If there was any individual initiative that I was responsible for it might have been that there was music in certain poems of mine, with complete progression and repeating `hooks,' which made them more like songs than just recitations with percussion," he wrote in the introduction to his 1990 collection of poems, "Now and Then."

He referred to his signature mix of percussion, politics and performed poetry as bluesology or Third World music. But then he said it was simply "black music or black American music."

"Because Black Americans are now a tremendously diverse essence of all the places we've come from and the music and rhythms we brought with us," he wrote.

Nevertheless, his influence on generations of rappers has been demonstrated through sampling of his recordings by artists, including Kanye West.

Scott-Heron recorded the song that would make him famous, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," which critiqued mass media, for the album "125th and Lenox" in Harlem in the 1970s. He followed up that recording with more than a dozen albums, initially collaborating with musician Brian Jackson. His most recent album was "I'm New Here," which he began recording in 2007 and was released in 2010.
